RARE NUMISMATIC LITERATURE

Welcome to our first fixed price list of numismatic books, catalogs and periodicals. We would like to thank all of those people who took part in our first mail-bid sale. We were very pleased with the results overall, with most sections doing better than we anticipated. We would like to take this opportunity to once again say thank you to the consignors who made the sale possible.

We are now entering our second year of business and we must say that we have learned much in this time. Not only have we learned more about the rarity and value of Numismatic literature items, but we also have had the opportunity to exper- ience the pleasure of others who are now growing and learning through the numismatic libraries we have helped establish.

Many people have sent us their want list in the past year, some we have been able to fill, others we have not. For those we have not been able to help so far, we have not forgotten you or put your want list in a dusty file, it is simply that we have not yet found the book on your list. Many of the books people are searching for do not come up for sale often, but when we do find them we certainly will let you know. If you have not yet sent us your want list please do, as we do have many other books in stock. We would appreciate receiving an updated list from those who have sent their lists before as we will be in the process of a total reviewal of all lists soon.

As many of you realize, we are a brother and sister who have gone in business together. We are in school during the fall, winter, and spring months and therefore our office hours are from 2-7 pm Monday through Friday and 9-5 pm CST on Satur- days. On occasion we do have conflicts with our school schedules, but we will have a person to answer the phones during office hours when we are not available. It is our policy to answer all letters we receive, and we make every effort to answer all these letters promptly. There are times, however, when our correspondence does get behind. For instance, we recently received a very large library along with many smaller boxes of books. Besides inventorying and making offers on these books, we were busy preparing to meet the deadlines in getting this catalog out. We will try to make the lag in getting correspondence out as scarce an event as some of the books we have to offer in this list.

For those of you who have received our first mail-bid sale catalog you will notice many of the formats we have used in that catalog present here. As pictures can sometimes be worth a thousand words, we have once again used photography to a great extent to show exactly what some of the lots look like. We had very good response from bidders in our sale concerning this aspect of our previous catalog.

Despite poor response to our young numismatist section, we will keep it in this list and will continue to include it in all subsequent list'' nr>d sales we hold. Since we are also fairly young, we can still remember the sometimes frustrating moments of not being able to satisfy our curiosity. As we said in our mail-bid catalog, many of these books may be considered of little use to the more experienced collector, but we feel that they can be particularly valuable to those just beginning to collect coins or paper money.

In this list you will notice a few more innovations we hope to continue. It is our feeling that while many of the out of print and current day books and catalogs are valuable in research, it is equally important to stay on top of current day discoveries, news, and market trends. We have therefore included a reduced subscription form from Coin World and would like to eventually add more periodicals for our next list. Also included is an order form for small monographs by writer/publisher Paul Ander- son. Paul furnishes these very valuable informational booklets as a labor of love and gets very little to no monetary return from them. The nominal fees charged are merely for postage and printing costs incurred. Anyone who has some ideas that they feel would enhance our future publications we would appreciate hearing from, as we are always looking to make our catalogs as informational and serviceable as possible.

We are always interested buyers in complete libraries and individual duplicates. We still have not yet determined a date for our next sale, but are looking for a major named consignor along with several others who may be interested in consigning their material. We are planning a supplement to this list in the next few months which will contain primarily foreign material from our stock, along with any other interesting items we may purchase in that time.

We would once again like to thank those who took part in our last sale, to those who have bought privately from us, and to those who have sold us their material in the past year. You have made this past year rewarding - not only for the growth in our company but also for the amount of personal knowledge we have gained as a result of these transactions. We would like to continue serving both buyers and sellers with the same integrity we feel we have established in the past year. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
